Soul Rebellion

Awaken Your Roots. Reclaim Your Fire. Lead With Soul.

Soul Rebellion is a spiritual movement, philosophy and body of work devoted to spiritual health, inner authority and ancestral responsibility.

It was created for people who want a deeper relationship with Spirit without handing their authority to someone else.

For people interested in intuition, ancestry, ritual, psychology, consciousness and the unseen — but who still want to keep their feet firmly on the ground.

Soul Rebellion isn't about escaping ordinary life in search of something more spiritual.

It is about discovering the sacred within the life you are already living.

This is spirituality rooted in responsibility and presence.

Why Soul Rebellion?

There is no shortage of people willing to tell us what to believe.

Spirituality has its gurus, formulas, hierarchies, trends and promises of enlightenment.

Psychology has its theories.

Culture gives us stories about who we're supposed to be.

Families hand us beliefs, patterns and expectations long before we're old enough to question them.

And now an algorithm can apparently diagnose your spiritual awakening before breakfast.

Soul Rebellion begins somewhere else.

With the question.

What do you actually believe?

What have you experienced?

What have you inherited?

What deserves to be carried forward?

What needs to be questioned?

And what happens when you stop searching for another person to give you the answer and begin developing the capacity to discern for yourself?

This is not a rebellion against Spirit.

It is a rebellion against everything that asks you to abandon yourself in order to find it.

What Soul Rebellion Stands For

At the centre of Soul Rebellion are four principles:

Inner Authority

Your life belongs to you.

Teachers can teach. Readers can read. Healers can facilitate. Ancestors can guide. Traditions can carry extraordinary wisdom.

But none of them gets automatic authority over your life.

Inner authority doesn't mean believing you're always right.

Quite the opposite.

It means becoming responsible enough to question yourself, seek wisdom, change your mind and ultimately take responsibility for the choices you make.

Embodiment

Spirituality has to come back into the body.

Into relationships.

Work.

Family.

Money.

Sex.

Grief.

Joy.

Boundaries.

Conflict.

Creativity.

And yes, occasionally the dishes.

If a spiritual practice only works while you're meditating, pulling cards or sitting in ceremony, we have more work to do.

Spirituality should help us inhabit our humanity, not escape it.

Discernment

We can be open without believing everything.

We can be sceptical without becoming cynical.

We can honour intuition while asking questions.

We can experience synchronicity without needing to explain the entire universe.

We can respect ancient wisdom without pretending everything ancient was wise.

And we can say:

“I don't know.”

Mystery does not require certainty.

Responsibility

Insight is only the beginning.

What matters is what happens afterwards.

How do you communicate?

What do you choose?

What do you repeat?

What do you repair?

What do you pass forward?

Spiritual responsibility asks us to consider not only what we believe, but what our beliefs produce in the way we live.

This Work Is Not About Becoming Special

It is about becoming real.

Soul Rebellion doesn't measure spiritual development by how mystical you sound.

You don't need the right clothes.

The right altar.

The right vocabulary.

The right aesthetic.

Or a social-media identity that suggests you spend every waking moment communing with the universe.

Spiritual practice becomes meaningful when it changes our relationship with ourselves, other people and the world around us.

Can you stay present when things become uncomfortable?

Can you recognise the difference between intuition and fear?

Can you question someone you respect?

Can you change your mind?

Can you recognise your own projection?

Can you listen to your ancestors without becoming imprisoned by the past?

Can you encounter mystery without needing to explain it?

Can you take responsibility for the life that is actually yours?

That's the work.

The Soul Rebellion Manifesto

The Manifesto is the philosophical backbone of Soul Rebellion.

It is not a doctrine telling you what you must believe.

It's a declaration of what we're willing to question, what we choose to stand for and how we attempt to practise spirituality responsibly.

We believe spirituality should make us more present, not less.

More capable of meeting life.

More willing to question ourselves.

More conscious of what we carry.

More responsible for what we pass on.

We believe psychology and spirituality can sit at the same table.

We believe science and mystery don't have to be enemies.

We believe ancestors can carry wisdom without being perfect.

We believe spiritual experiences can be profound without assuming our first interpretation of them must be true.

We believe ritual matters — but ritual without integration can become theatre.

And we believe spiritual authority should ultimately lead you back toward yourself, not create dependency on another person.

The Laws of Soul Rebellion

Every rebellion needs a code.

Ours just doesn't require blind obedience to it.

The Laws of Soul Rebellion are principles for practising the philosophy in real life.

I. Your Authority Is Your Responsibility

Listen. Learn. Seek counsel.

But never surrender responsibility for your own life.

II. Stay in Your Body

The body is not an inconvenience standing between you and enlightenment.

It is part of the practice.

III. Question Everything — Including Yourself

Question teachers.

Question traditions.

Question spiritual claims.

Question Soul Rebellion.

Question Makeda.

And occasionally, inconveniently, question yourself.

IV. Your Ancestors Are Roots, Not Chains

Honour what came before without assuming everything inherited deserves to continue.

V. Experience Before Performance

You do not need to look spiritual.

Ask whether the practice changes the way you live.

VI. Mystery Does Not Require Certainty

You are allowed to experience something extraordinary and still say:

“I don't know exactly what that was.”

VII. Power Requires Responsibility

Spiritual knowledge, intuition, healing and leadership never give us permission to dominate other people.

VIII. Do the Work in Real Life

Insight without integration is just another interesting idea.

IX. Take What Has Roots. Leave What Doesn't.

Learn widely.

Experience deeply.

Then discern.

X. Remember That You Are Becoming an Ancestor

Ancestral work doesn't only look backwards.

One day, we are the ancestors.

The question isn't simply:

What did I inherit?

It is also:

What am I leaving behind?

And these are only the beginning.

Who This Is For

Soul Rebellion may be for you if:

You're spiritually curious but don't want to be told what to believe.

You've had experiences you can't easily explain.

You're questioning beliefs you once accepted without thinking.

You're exploring ancestry, identity or inherited family patterns.

You want to understand intuition without losing discernment.

You're interested in the meeting place between psychology and spirituality.

You've outgrown parts of the spiritual world but haven't outgrown Spirit.

You want practice rather than performance.

Or perhaps you simply have questions.

Questions are welcome here.

What Makes This Different?

Soul Rebellion doesn't ask you to choose between being spiritual and being intelligent.

You are allowed to think.

You are allowed to question.

You are allowed to believe something today and understand it differently five years from now.

You can honour your ancestors without idealising them.

You can learn from traditions without turning someone else's culture into a costume.

You can explore intuition without treating every feeling as prophecy.

You can respect science without assuming science has already answered every meaningful human question.

You can encounter mystery without abandoning common sense.

And you can work with a spiritual practitioner without giving them authority over your life.

No gurus. No hierarchy. No spiritual theatre.

Just people doing the work.

Why Join Soul Rebellion?

Because spiritual life can become strangely lonely once you stop fitting neatly into somebody else's box.

Maybe you're spiritual but uncomfortable with guru culture.

Maybe you're intuitive but don't think every thought that enters your head is a message from Spirit.

Maybe you value psychology and science and you've experienced things that neither has completely explained for you.

Maybe you're reconnecting with ancestry and trying to understand what inheritance actually means.

Maybe you're rebuilding your spiritual life after leaving another belief system behind.

Or perhaps nothing dramatic has happened.

You simply started asking:

Is there more to this?

Soul Rebellion gives those questions somewhere to live.

You don't join because I have all the answers.

I don't.

You join because you want somewhere to explore the questions — through writing, conversation, practice, courses, community and your own experience.

You can participate as much or as little as you choose.
